AAC, Opus, WMA, AMR or APE to audio

Open AAC, Opus, WMA, AMR or APE in a common audio format. Use AAC, Opus, WMA, AMR or APE to audio locally with practical instructions, output settings and format limits.

A practical guide

AAC, Opus, WMA, AMR or APE to audio

Convert supported AAC, Opus, WMA, AMR, APE and other accepted audio sources into an ordinary listening or editing copy. Select a short segment and export MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A or AIFF. Use bitrate controls for lossy output and check speech or music quality after re-encoding.

  • Create an MP3 from a WMA excerpt
  • Make a WAV copy of a supported voice memo
  • Export an Opus recording segment as FLAC

How to use AAC, Opus, WMA, AMR or APE to audio

  1. Choose the source audio

Upload one supported audio recording and check the useful portion. The source must have a readable audio track and a known duration within the supported source bounds.

  2. Select the audio excerpt

Enter start and length in seconds. Keep the requested excerpt within 120 seconds and use length as a duration after start rather than an ending timestamp.

  3. Choose the output format

Select the audio format and a bitrate for lossy encoding when relevant. Run the tool to decode the source and encode the new audio copy.

  4. Listen in the destination player

Download the output and play the full selected passage. Check the first and last words, musical detail and compatibility with the application that will use it.

Understand the settings

Output format
Choose output format according to the result you need. Available choices: MP3; WAV; FLAC; OGG; M4A; AIFF. The initial selection is MP3.
Bitrate (kbps)
Bitrate (kbps) accepts values from 32 to 320, using whole numbers. The initial value is 128. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
Start (seconds)
Start (seconds) accepts values from 0 to 7200, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 0. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.
Length (seconds)
Length (seconds) accepts values from 0.1 to 120, in increments of 0.1. The initial value is 20. Change it for a specific output requirement, then check the result before processing more files.

A voice memo for a WAV workflow

A supported AMR voice memo needs to be reviewed in software that expects WAV. Select a useful sixty-second passage and choose WAV. Download the new audio, listen for complete speech and retain the AMR source for any later conversion choices.

Check your result

Upload a file, adjust settings and run the tool. All processing uses the local engine. Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels. Open the saved output in the app or workflow where you plan to use it. Check one representative result before repeating the same settings with more files. The original files stay unchanged.

What to know before you start

  • Files are processed on this device. Browser memory and engine-specific limits apply. Save results before reloading.
  • Media jobs are bounded to 120 seconds; animations to 240 frames, 30 seconds and 64 million decoded pixels.
  • Upload one file with a combined size of at most 100 MB. The completed output must fit within 200 MB.
  • Files are checked by the local engine; a matching filename alone is not proof of valid contents.
  • Selections and completed jobs stay available while you navigate inside this tab. Use My files to revisit results. Reloading or closing the tab clears the workspace; download results you want to keep first.

AAC, Opus, WMA, AMR or APE to audio: common questions

Does WAV make a compressed source lossless?

WAV stores the decoded signal without another lossy encoding step here, but it cannot restore information lost in an AMR, AAC or other compressed source. It may also be much larger than the original recording.

Which formats use the bitrate control?

The bitrate setting affects lossy outputs such as MP3, OGG and M4A. WAV and AIFF use PCM, while FLAC uses lossless compression, so those choices do not become low-bitrate lossy files merely because of the field value.

Can I convert a two-hour recording at once?

The source duration can be up to two hours when readable and known, but the selected output excerpt is bounded to 120 seconds. Choose the segment you need rather than expecting a full long-form audio export.

Will conversion improve noisy speech?

Changing the audio format does not remove background noise or recover unclear speech. This tool handles decoding, segment selection and encoding; evaluate the source quality separately and listen carefully if the recording is important to your task.

Does AAC, Opus, WMA, AMR or APE to audio upload files to another service?

Processing runs in this browser, on your device. Files and pasted input are not uploaded to a conversion server. The website and required engine assets must load first; large operations depend on available device memory.
