2. **Select the reading format**: Choose EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, PDF or TXT for the intended use. Consider whether you need reflowable book structure, fixed pages or a simpler text copy.

## Questions

### Can this remove ebook DRM?

No. DRM-protected or encrypted ebooks are unsupported. Use an unprotected ebook that you can legitimately process, and obtain an appropriate source copy through the publisher or owner when encryption prevents a normal conversion workflow.

### Will PDF look like an ebook reader screen?

Not necessarily. Reflowable ebooks adapt to reader settings, while PDF uses fixed pages determined during conversion. Review page breaks, image sizing and text flow in the actual PDF rather than assuming the source reading layout is preserved.

### Can EPUB depend on online images?

The EPUB workflow requires resources to be bundled locally and rejects external resource dependencies. Prepare a self-contained source through your authoring workflow before converting, then check the output illustrations and styles in the target reader.

### What is lost in a plain-text copy?

Plain text is useful for words and simple review but cannot retain the ebook’s visual styling, interactive navigation or illustrations as a full reading experience. Keep the original ebook when those structural and visual features remain important.
